The film examines the reluctance of the media to discuss these issues and the institutionalized homophobia that allows these politicians to actively harm the gay community.

With the help of private investigator Becy Altringer, Kirby Dick unmasks the identities of the elusive board members, bringing to light the hypocritical decisions they make to the detriment of audiences and filmmakers alike.

Twist of Faith follows Tony Comes, a firefighter from Ohio who decided to confront the sexual abuse he faced as a teen at the hands of a Catholic priest after he discovers that the priest, Dennis Gray, was living on the same street as Comes, his wife, and their two children.

Though Derrida argued that the omission of philosophers’ intimate personal details in discussion of their lives by scholars is detrimental, he refuses to answer questions directly about himself. This tension, along with interviews, footage of lectures, and personal footage paint a fascinating and entertaining portrait of a complicated man.

10 students at John Marshall High School in the upper-middle-class Los Feliz section of Los Angeles received Hi-8 video cameras and instructions to film their lives extensively for one week and then pass the cameras on to other students. Out of the hundreds of hours of footage that the students shot of themselves, their friends and their families, filmmaker Kirby Dick selected 16 students' work to create this film, covering the topics that were pertinent in their lives, from eating disorders to graffiti art.

Sick chronicles the life and death of the performance artist Bob Flanagan. Having been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis from a young age, his sadomasochistic practices, frequently the subject of his art, served as a tool for him to control his body despite his diagnosis. Together Flanagan’s performance videos, home movies, and interviews with his family and friends provide a fascinating portrait of a man who lived and died on his own terms.
